Accessibility at First Contact
We want people with different abilities, technologies, and ways of interacting to be able to understand our work and contact us.
1. Our commitment
First Contact Agency is committed to identifying, preventing, and removing accessibility barriers where we can. We aim to provide information and communication in ways that respect dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity.
2. Our website target
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab), Level AA, as our voluntary design and testing target. This target supports ongoing improvement; it is not a certification that every page or feature is free of barriers.
We also consider applicable requirements under Ontario’s accessibility laws when maintaining the site and responding to accommodation requests.
3. Accessibility features
The current website includes measures intended to support access, including:
- semantic headings, landmarks, and descriptive link text;
- a skip link for keyboard and assistive-technology users;
- keyboard-accessible links and visible focus indicators;
- responsive layouts that adapt to smaller screens and text sizes;
- text and controls designed for readable colour contrast; and
- reduced animation when a device or browser requests reduced motion.
4. Known limitations
Some parts of the main site use immersive animation, canvas rendering, and three-dimensional visual effects. Those experiences may perform differently across older browsers, assistive technologies, low-powered devices, or uncommon input methods.
If a visual or interactive feature creates a barrier, contact us. We will work with you to provide the same core information in a suitable alternative format or through another communication method.
5. Links that open a new tab
The Privacy, Terms, and Accessibility links in the main website footer open their documents in a new browser tab so the main experience stays available. Those links include a visible arrow and an assistive-technology announcement. Most other internal links open in the same tab.
6. Feedback and support
Tell us if you encounter a barrier, need information in an alternative format, or need communication support. It helps if you include the page or feature involved, what happened, the browser or assistive technology you were using, and the format or support you prefer.

Subject: Accessibility feedback
We will acknowledge accessibility feedback, consider it in good faith, and work with you on a suitable response. Accessible formats and communication supports will be arranged in consultation with the person requesting them where required.
7. Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is ongoing. We review the website as content and technology change, prioritize issues based on impact, and update this statement when our approach or known limitations materially change.
